5 things about me:
1. I am blessed with a loving husband and a son, named Daniel.
2. I am linguistically challenged. Despite having learnt French, Chinese & Latin in school, I remain decidedly monolingual - speaking & being comfortable largely in English. Oddly enough, I am not a Westerner. I am Asian, and am therefore, thoroughly confused. Hmm...
3. I love to sing & play the piano, though to do both at the same time is rather difficult still.
4. TV gives me a headache. No, really. Read more about this bizarre ailment I have here.
5. My favourite Bible verse is "Without God, I have no good thing." (Psalm 16:2) Very true, very true...
I have designed this blog using HTML, Dreamweaver MX and Fireworks MX. I am not using blogger, typepad, live journal or any other commercially-available software. Call me strange. I like doing things the hard way and actually, it really isn't that hard at all.
For photography, I am currently using a Fuji FinePix F10. A very good, largely automatic, point-and-shoot, brainless camera... great macro, great natural lighting shots. For examples of great macro, go here. For more of my pics, check out my Flickr page.
This blog was created in Jul 2004, shortly after I got married to my loving husband. The hope for this blog is to be more a photoblog than a wordy, rambly blog. I think pictures tell a story in ways that words cannot. Also, I'm trying to develop my photography skills. The emphasis is on the word "trying" since I haven't really done anything concrete about it, other than meditate, drool over National Geographic photos and take random shots whenever I'm roaming the streets.
My other main interest is cooking. Am not sure why but I do spend a lot of time thinking about food. My free mental time is spent conjuring up menus for dinner parties and tete-a-tetes with my husband. Even the requisite tiredness that came with being preggers did not manage to quench my love for cooking. You see, cooking is an outlet of creativity & experimentation for me, and it does help to have a supportive husband who seems to love my cooking genuinely. Well, there have been a few "disasters" - a fatal minced pork with eggplant dish comes to mind. Heck, I seem to have a longstanding cursed relationship with any dish involving eggplant. But all in all, cooking has provided more joys than sorrows, more "heartburn" (of the good variety) than "stomachache" (of the vomitting variety).
Therefore this blog will probably be quite heavy laden with comments on food and photography. To be honest, I'm not sure how long I'll continue to blog, what with life throwing me so many changes these days. But I'll keep plugging at it, so long as I have something to share & time to share it. ^__^
